i am an artist whose favorite medium is plants. i fell in love with gardening when my dad and i would create colorful planters for my grandma to look at on her patio during her struggle with alzheimer’s. i saw how profound of an impact a garden can have, or even just a few plants in a pot. over the next years i always had community garden plots, then i became a professional gardener, and then i started farming.
i grow flowers on 3/4 of an acre in hamden, ct (just outside of new haven) using no-till and chemical free growing practices, so as to disturb the soil and its inhabitants as little as possible. these gardens are full of happy earthworms, birds, butterflies, insects, humans and squirrels (far too many of the latter). i’ve been a lot of places, but there’s nowhere i enjoy being more than in the dirt.
my partner unison has a full time job, but they help me with wedding work as much as they can, so you may see them behind the scenes with me there. they are an invaluable part of this business, and i am eternally grateful for their support.
i truly love working with these flowers from seed to stem. i hope to get to share some of the beauty with you. ✿
